ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಬಳಲಿಹೋದರು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಸೌಲನು--ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಸಾಯಂಕಾ ಲದ ವರೆಗೆ ಯಾವನು ಆಹಾರ ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನು ಶಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆಹಾರದ ರುಚಿ ನೋಡದೆ ಇದ್ದರು.
