அவன் ஜனங்களைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, அவர்களை மூன்று படையாக வகுத்து, வெளியிலே பதிவிருந்து, அந்த ஜனங்கள் பட்டணத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வருகிறதைக் கண்டு, அவர்கள்மேல் எழும்பி, அவர்களை வெட்டினான்.

எனவே அபிமெலேக்கு அவனது ஆட்களை மூன்று குழுக்களாகப் பிரித்தான். அவன் சீகேமின் ஜனங்களைத் திடீரென தாக்குவதற்கு விரும்பினான். எனவே தன்னுடைய ஆட்களை வயலில் மறைந்திருக்கும்படி செய்தான். நகரத்திலிருந்து ஜனங்கள் வெளியே வந்ததும் அவர்கள்மேல் பாய்ந்து அவர்களைத் தாக்கினார்கள்.
