நீங்கள் எங்களுக்கு விரோதமாக வந்தது என்ன என்று யூதா மனுஷர் கேட்டதற்கு, அவர்கள்: சிம்சோன் எங்களுக்குச் செய்ததுபோல, நாங்களும் அவனுக்குச் செய்யும்படி அவனைக் கட்டுகிறதற்காக வந்தோம் என்றார்கள்.

யூதா கோத்திரத்தினர் அவர்களிடம், “பெலிஸ்தியராகிய நீங்கள் ஏன் எங்களோடு போரிட வந்துள்ளீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டனர். அதற்கு பெலிஸ்தியர், “நாங்கள் சிம்சோனைக் கைது செய்ய வந்துள்ளோம். எங்கள் ஜனங்களுக் கெதிராக அவன் செய்த செயல்களுக்கு அவனைத் தண்டிக்க விரும்புகிறோம்” என்றனர்.

And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us? And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us.

said,	וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙	ʾāmar	ah-MAHR
And the men	אִ֣ישׁ	ʾîš	eesh
of Judah	יְהוּדָ֔ה	yĕhûdâ	yeh-hoo-DA
Why	לָמָ֖ה	mâ	ma
are ye come up	עֲלִיתֶ֣ם	ʿālâ	ah-LA
against	עָלֵ֑ינוּ	ʿal	al
us? And they answered,	וַיֹּֽאמְר֗וּ	ʾāmar	ah-MAHR
To bind	לֶֽאֱס֤וֹר	ʾāsar	ah-SAHR
	אֶת	ʾēt	ate
Samson	שִׁמְשׁוֹן֙	šimšôn	sheem-SHONE
are we come up,	עָלִ֔ינוּ	ʿālâ	ah-LA
to do	לַֽעֲשׂ֣וֹת	ʿāśâ	ah-SA
