நீங்கள் பாளயத்தை உருவ நடந்துபோய், ஜனங்களைப் பார்த்து: உங்களுக்குப் போஜனபதார்த்தங்களை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணுங்கள்; உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரிக்கக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தை நீங்கள் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு, இன்னும் மூன்று நாளைக்குள்ளே இந்த யோர்தானைக் கடந்துபோவீர்கள் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.

நீங்கள் முகாமிற்குள்ளே நடந்துபோய், மக்களைப் பார்த்து: உங்களுக்கு உணவுப் பொருட்களை ஆயத்தம் செய்யுங்கள்; உங்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்வதற்காகக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தை நீங்கள் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு, இன்னும் மூன்றுநாட்களுக்குள்ளே இந்த யோர்தானைக் கடந்துபோவீர்கள் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.

அவன், “முகாம்களுக்குச் சென்று ஜனங்களிடம் தயாராகும்படி கூறுங்கள், மேலும் ஜனங்களிடம் ‘கொஞ்சம் உணவைத் தயாரியுங்கள். இன்றிலிருந்து மூன்று நாட்களுக்குள் நாம் யோர்தான் நதியைக் கடக்கப் போகிறோம். தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கின்ற தேசத்திற்குப் போய் அதைச் சுதந்தரிப்போம்’ எனச் சொல்லுங்கள்” என்றும் சொன்னான்.
