Proverbs 15 - BBE (Gujarati)

1 By a soft answer wrath is turned away, but a bitter word is a cause of angry feelings.નમ્ર જવાબથી ક્રોધ શમી જાય છે. પણ કઠોર વચનથી રોષ ભભૂકી ઊઠે છે.

2 Knowledge is dropping from the tongue of the wise; but from the mouth of the foolish comes a stream of foolish words.જ્ઞાની વ્યકિતની વાણી જ્ઞાન ઊચ્ચારે છે, પરંતુ મૂર્ખની વાણી મૂર્ખાઇથી ઉભરાય છે.

3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.યહોવાની દ્રષ્ટિ સર્વત્ર હોય છે તે ભલા અને ભૂંડા બધાં પર લક્ષ રાખે છે.

4 A comforting tongue is a tree of life, but a twisted tongue is a crushing of the spirit.ઘા રૂઝવે એવી વાણી જીવનવૃક્ષ છે, પણ વક્રવાણી આત્માને તોડી નાખે છે.

5 A foolish man puts no value on his father's training; but he who has respect for teaching has good sense.મૂર્ખ પોતાના પિતાની સૂચનાઓને તુચ્છ ગણે છે; પણ ઠપકાને ગંભીરતાથી લક્ષમાં લેનાર શાણો થાય છે.

6 In the house of the upright man there is a great store of wealth; but in the profits of the sinner there is trouble.સજ્જનના ઘરમાં ધનનો ભંડાર છે. પણ દુર્જનની કમાણીમાં આફત હોય છે.

7 The lips of the wise keep knowledge, but the heart of the foolish man is not right.જ્ઞાની વ્યકિતની વાણી જ્ઞાન ફેલાવે છે, પણ મૂર્ખનું હૃદય મૂર્ખતા ફેલાવે છે.

8 The offering of the evil-doer is disgusting to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright man is his delight.દુષ્ટના યજ્ઞાર્પણને યહોવા ધિક્કારે છે; પરંતુ પ્રામાણિકની પ્રાર્થનાથી તે પ્રસન્ન થાય છે.

9 The way of the evil-doer is disgusting to the Lord, but he who goes after righteousness is dear to him.દુષ્ટ વ્યકિતઓના આચારને યહોવા ધિક્કારે છે; પરંતુ નીતિમત્તાને માગેર્ ચાલનાર ઉપર તે પ્રેમ દાખવે છે.

10 There is bitter punishment for him who is turned from the way; and death will be the fate of the hater of teaching.સદૃમાર્ગને તજી જનારને આકરી સજા થશે. અને ઠપકાનો તિરસ્કાર કરનાર મરી જશે.

11 Before the Lord are the underworld and destruction: how much more, then, the hearts of the children of men!શેઓલ તથા અબદોનયહોવા સમક્ષ ખુલ્લાં છે. તો માણસોનાં હૃદય કેટલાં વિશેષખુલ્લાં હોવાં જોઇએ!

12 The hater of authority has no love for teaching: he will not go to the wise.તુ માખી રાખનારને કોઇ ઠપકો આપે તે ગમતું નથી. અને તે જ્ઞાની વ્યકિતની પાસે જવા પણ ઇચ્છતો નથી.

13 A glad heart makes a shining face, but by the sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.જો અંતરમાં આનંદ હોય તો ચહેરો પ્રફુલ્લિત રહે છે. પરંતુ હૃદયમાં શોક હોય તો મન ભાંગી જાય છે.

14 The heart of the man of good sense goes in search of knowledge, but foolish things are the food of the unwise.જ્ઞાની વ્યકિત જ્ઞાનની ઇચ્છા રાખે છે. પરંતુ મૂર્ખનો આહાર મૂર્ખાઇ છે.

15 All the days of the troubled are evil; but he whose heart is glad has an unending feast.દરરોજ કોઇ વ્યકિત મુશ્કેલીમાં મૂકાય તો તે બહુ ખરાબ છે. પણ સુખી હૃદય એ સતત ચાલતી ઊજવણી છે.

16 Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great wealth together with trouble.મુશ્કેલીઓ સાથેની વિપુલ સંપતિ કરતાં યહોવા પ્રત્યેના ભયની સાથે થોડું ધન હોવું વધારે ઉત્તમ છે.

17 Better is a simple meal where love is, than a fat ox and hate with it.સરસ માંસ ધિક્કારથી ખાવાં કરતા સાદા શાકભાજી પ્રેમથી ખાવા વધારે સારા છે.

18 An angry man makes men come to blows, but he who is slow to get angry puts an end to fighting.ગરમ મિજાજનો વ્યકિત કજિયા ઊભા કરે છે. પણ ધીરજવાન વ્યકિત બોલાચાલીને શાંત પાડે છે.

19 Thorns are round the way of the hater of work; but the road of the hard worker becomes a highway.આળસુ વ્યકિતનો માર્ગ કાંટાથી ભરાઇ ગયો છે; પણ સજ્જનનો માર્ગ વિઘ્નોથી મુકત છે.

20 A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish man has no respect for his mother.ડાહ્યો પુત્ર પિતાને સુખ આપે છે, પણ મૂર્ખ પુત્ર પોતાની માતાને ધિક્કારે છે.

21 Foolish behaviour is joy to the unwise; but a man of good sense makes his way straight.અજ્ઞાનીને મૂર્ખાઇ આનંદરુપ લાગે છે; પણ બુદ્ધિમાન માણસ સીધે રસ્તે ચાલે છે.

22 Where there are no wise suggestions, purposes come to nothing; but by a number of wise guides they are made certain.સલાહ વગરની યોજના ધૂળમાં મળે છે, પરંતુ અનેક સલાહકાર હોય તો તે સફળ થાય છે.

23 A man has joy in the answer of his mouth: and a word at the right time, how good it is!પોતાના હાજરજવાબીપણાથી વ્યકિત ખુશ થાય છે; યોગ્ય સમયે બોલાયેલો શબ્દ કેટલો સરસ લાગે છે!

24 Acting wisely is the way of life, guiding a man away from the underworld.જ્ઞાની માણસ માટે એક જીવન તરફ જતો રસ્તો છે જે તેને શેઓલતરફ જતા રસ્તેથી પાછો વાળે છે.

25 The house of the man of pride will be uprooted by the Lord, but he will make safe the heritage of the widow.યહોવા અભિમાનીનું ઘર તોડી પાડે છે, પણ વિધવાની હદ તે કાયમ રાખશે.

26 Evil designs are disgusting to the Lord, but the words of the clean-hearted are pleasing.દુષ્ટ લોકોની યોજનાઓથી યહોવા ધિક્કારે છે, પરંતુ તેમની દ્રષ્ટિએ દયાળુ શબ્દો પવિત્ર છે.

27 He whose desires are fixed on profit is a cause of trouble to his family; but he who has no desire for offerings will have life.જે લોભી છે તે પોતાના કુટુંબને માથે આફત નોતરે છે, પરંતુ જે લાંચને ધિક્કારે છે તે શાંતિથી જીવે છે.

28 The heart of the upright gives thought to his answer; but from the mouth of the evil-doer comes a stream of evil things.સજ્જન જવાબ આપતાં પહેલાં વિચાર કરે છે, પણ દુર્જન પોતાના મોઢે ભૂંડી વાતો વહેતી મૂકે છે.

29 The Lord is far from sinners, but his ear is open to the prayer of the upright.યહોવા પોતાને દુર્જનથી દૂર રાખે છે, પણ તે સજ્જનની પ્રાર્થના સાંભળે છે.

30 The light of the eyes is a joy to the heart, and good news makes the bones fat.આંખોની ચમક જોઇ હૃદયને આનંદ થાય છે. અને શુભ સમાચાર હાડકાને તંદુરસ્ત બનાવે છે.

31 The man whose ear is open to the teaching of life will have his place among the wise.જીવનપ્રદ શિખામણ સાંભળનારની ગણતરી જ્ઞાનીઓમાં થાય છે.

32 He who will not be controlled by training has no respect for his soul, but he who gives ear to teaching will get wisdom.શિખામણનો ત્યાગ કરનાર પોતે પોતાના જ જીવનને તુચ્છ ગણે છે. પણ સુધરવા માટેની શિક્ષા સાંભળનાર સમજણ મેળવે છે.

33 The fear of the Lord is the teaching of wisdom; and a low opinion of oneself goes before honour.યહોવાથી ડરીને ચાલવું એ જ જ્ઞાનની સૂચના છે; સન્માન પામતાં પહેલા નમ્ર બનવું જરૂરી છે.
