பார்வோனுடைய ஆளோட்டிகள் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர்மேல் வைத்த அவர்களுடைய தலைவர்களை நோக்கி: செங்கல் வேலையில் நீங்கள் முன் செய்தது போல நேற்றும் இன்றும் ஏன் செய்யவில்லை என்று கேட்டு, அவர்களை அடித்தார்கள்.

இஸ்ரவேலரின் எகிப்திய எஜமானர்கள், எபிரெய மேற்பார்வையாளர்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து ஜனங்கள் செய்த வேலைக்கு அவர்களைப் பொறுப்பாளர்கள் ஆக்கினார்கள். இஸ்ரவேலரின் எகிப்திய எஜமானர்கள், எபிரெய மேற்பார்வையாளர்களை அடித்து அவர்களிடம், “முன்னால் செய்த எண்ணிக்கையளவு செங்கற்களை ஏன் நீங்கள் செய்யவில்லை? முன்பு அதனைச் செய்ய முடிந்ததென்றால், இப்போதும் உங்களால் அதைச் செய்யக் கூடும்!” என்றார்கள்.
