மலை அக்கினியால் எரிகையில் இருளின் நடுவிலிருந்து உண்டான சத்தத்தை நீங்கள் கேட்டபோது, கோத்திரத் தலைவரும் மூப்பருமாகிய நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னிடத்தில் வந்து:

when ye heard	כְּשָׁמְעֲכֶ֤ם	šāmaʿ	sha-MA
	אֶת	ʾēt	ate
the voice	הַקּוֹל֙	qôl	kole
out of the midst	מִתּ֣וֹךְ	tāwek	ta-VEK
of the darkness,	הַחֹ֔שֶׁךְ	ḥōšek	hoh-SHEK
(for the mountain	וְהָהָ֖ר	har	hahr
did burn	בֹּעֵ֣ר	bāʿar	ba-AR
