এইভাবে শুধু একটা গুলতি আর একটি পাথর দিয়েই দায়ূদ এই পলেষ্টীয়কে হারিয়ে দিলেন এবং আঘাত করে মেরে ফেললেন| দাযূদের হাতে কোন তরবারি ছিল না|

শৌল দায়ূদকে নানা জায়গায় যুদ্ধ করতে পাঠালেন| প্রত্যেক ক্ষেত্রেই দায়ূদ ভালভাবেই সফল হলেন| তারপর শৌল তাঁকে সৈন্যদের অধিনাযক করে দিলেন| এতে সকলেই খুশী হল, এমনকি শৌলের সৈন্যবাহিনীর পদস্থ কর্মীরাও|

তখন দায়ূদ বাল পরাসীমে গিয়ে সেই জায়গায় পলেষ্টীয়দের পরাজিত করলেন| দায়ূদ বললেন, “প্রভু আমার শত্রুদের ঠিক তেমন ভাবেই ভেদ করলেন যেমন ভাবে বন্যার জল একটি বাঁধের মধ্যে দিয়ে সবলে পথ করে বেরিয়ে যায়|” এই কারণে দায়ূদ এই জায়গার নাম “বাল পরাসীম” রাখলেন|
