அப்பொழுது சவுல் அவனை நோக்கி: நீயும் ஈசாயின் மகனும் எனக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கட்டுப்பாடுபண்ணி, இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறபடி எனக்குச் சதிபண்ண அவன் எனக்கு விரோதமாக எழும்பும்படிக்கு, நீ அவனுக்கு அப்பமும் பட்டயமும் கொடுத்து, தேவசந்நிதியில் அவனுக்காக விசாரித்தது என்ன என்றான்.

சவுல் அகிமெலேக்கிடம், “நீயும் ஈசாயின் மகனான தாவீதும் சேர்ந்து எனக்கு எதிராக ஏன் இரகசிய திட்டமிட்டீர்கள்? நீ அவனுக்கு அப்பமும் பட்டயமும் கொடுத்திருக்கிறாய்! அவனுக்காக தேவனிடம் ஜெபம் செய்திருக்கிறாய்? இப்போது தாவீது என்னை தாக்குவதற்குத் தயாராக இருக்கிறான்!” என்றான்.

சவுல் அவரிடம், “நீயும் ஈசாயின் மகனும் எனக்கு எதிராக ஏன் சூழ்ச்சி செய்தீர்கள்? இந்நாள் வரை அவன் எனக்கெதிராக கிளர்ச்சி செய்யும்படி ஏன் அவனுக்கு நீ அப்பமும் வாளும் தந்து அவனுக்காக கடவுளின் திருவுளத்தைக் கேட்டறிந்தாய்?” என்று கேட்டார்.

Appoluthu savul avanai Nnokki: neeyum eesaayin makanum enakku virothamaayk kattuppaadupannnni, innaalil irukkirapati enakkuch sathipannna avan enakku virothamaaka elumpumpatikku, nee avanukku appamum pattayamum koduththu, thaevasannithiyil avanukkaaka visaariththathu enna entan.

me, thou אַתָּ֖ה ʾattâ ah-TA
and the son וּבֶן bēn bane
of Jesse, יִשָׁ֑י yišay yee-SHAI
in that thou hast given בְּתִתְּךָ֙ nātan na-TAHN

him bread, לֶ֣חֶם leḥem leh-HEM
