தாவீது சமஸ்த இஸ்ரவேலின்மேலும் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்பண்ணப்பட்டதைப் பெலிஸ்தர் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, பெலிஸ்தர் எல்லாரும் தாவீதைத் தேடும்படி வந்தார்கள்; அதை தாவீது கேட்டபோது அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகப் புறப்பட்டான்.
