4 பின்பு தாவீது இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்தோடுங்கூட எபூசாகிய எருசலேமுக்குப் போனான்; எபூசியர் அத்தேசத்தின் குடிகளாயிருந்தார்கள். And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.

5 அப்பொழுது எபூசின் குடிகள் தாவீதை நோக்கி: நீ இதற்குள் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை என்றார்கள்; ஆனாலும் தாவீது சீயோன் கோட்டையைப் பிடித்தான்; அது தாவீதின் நகரமாயிற்று. And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.

6 எபூசியரை முறிய அடிக்கிறதில் எவன் முந்தினவனாயிருக்கிறானோ, அவன் தலைவனும் சேனாபதியுமாயிருப்பானென்று தாவீது சொல்லியிருந்தான்; செருயாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாப் முந்தி ஏறித் தலைவனானான். And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.

6 Epoosiyarai muriya atikkirathil evan munthinavanaayirukkiraano, avan thalaivanum senaapathiyumaayiruppaanentu David solliyirunthaan; seruyaavin kumaaranaakiya yovaap munthi aerith thalaivanaanaan. 7 David anthak kottaைyil vaasampannnninapatiyinaal, athu thaaveethin nakaram ennappattathu. And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.

8 Pirpaadu avan nakaraththai millo thodangich suttilum kattinaan; yovaap nakaraththin matta idangalaip paluthupaarththaan. And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.

9 David naalukkunaal viruththiyatainthaan; senaikalutaiya Karththar avanotaekooda irunthaar. So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.
